The charger is 45W (19V, 2.37A). Oddly, the product description on the Acer website doesn't even acknowledge the USB type C port, which I can assure you exists. The Best Buy description does mention the USB-C port and says that it can charge the laptop. An Acer customer service representative confirmed that to me the other day.

A solution which you inadvertently found is to use a Thunderbolt cable certified to carry a maximum of 60 W (3 A @ 20 V). When a 60 W rated cable is used, the SF314-512 will not exceed 60 W. For some reason, the laptop will honor maximum power of a power delivery contract when a 60 W cable is present.

Answers. Nope, the USB-C port on your laptop doesn't support charging, so you need the traditional type. Note that the correct adapter will have a 1.1mm hole in the barrel, some third party adapters have a 1.35mm hole and they won't make good contact with the center electrode. Otherwise any 45W 19V 1.1x3.0x7.7mm charger should work.

Best Answer. Specs say it's a Type C USB3.1 Gen 1, without video. You have the HDMI port for an external monitor, to put a second one on you will need a dock. Look for USB docks with whichever port is easiest for your monitor to accept. There are a fair number of them in the $20-40 range.

Recently used a tool called BatteryInfoView which can show the amount of watts that the battery is being charged. Noticed that when using the Razer Core X, the charging watts was under 5W (very low). When using a lenovo usb c charger, the charging watts is over 40W, which can charge my SF313-52G quickly.
